The Old Blood Noise Endeavors Pardner deals in new ways for exciting, fuzz concoctions. Fresh from Oklahoma’s finest gang of fuzz-slingers, Pardner arrives to offer new avenues for crafting intriguing effect mixes on a single board. For fans of Old Blood and all their mind-melding pedal interactivity, Pardner turns a new corner to reach new effect conclusions.
At the heart of Pardner is a resonant fuzz with a distinct synthetic edge. Reminiscent of synth-style fuzzes, the warbly saturation of Pardner’s core effect can get unwieldy and raucous but offers a suite of controls to dial in one’s own perfect mix. Such controls include a Volume, Treble and Bass controls for contouring the EQ of the fuzz and for playing nicely with other effects. The distinct synth character of the fuzz can be reeled in or let loose with dedicated Filter and Intensity knobs to roll into tonal sweet spots sure to make synth fuzz fans swoon.
Pardner, however, would not be the pedal it is without its secret weapon – the Lasso section. While working and tinkering with the wild fuzz of Pardner, one might look to build some other effects into the signal equation, but might not want to muddy any effect voicings, this is where Lasso comes in. The Lasso section of Pardner works as an onboard effect loop that allows players to route in any variety of effect pedals and integrate them into their signal chain with closer control and further segmentation, should they seek it out. Match Pardner’s synthetic fuzz with your favorite effects and hear new combinations bloom with exciting voicings. Alternatively, one can leave the Lasso effect loop unoccupied and utilize the built-in Volume and Gain knobs to either function as a clean blend control or an overdrive boost. Additional control for routing Pardner’s fuzz into the Lasso section or the other way around can be selected via a three-way toggle, also offering a parallel routing option.
