Couple of things I’d like to share:
1. First, the folks at Stompbox are simply amazing. When I called them up for a modeller, Rishi was more than helpful help me in procuring one. I was looking for an entry level multieffects processor, and he took me through what they had in store. We finally settled on the MG 30, as its firmware was recently upgraded in April. I was really impressed when the device was shipped in less than 24 hours. Last time I looked, this unit is sold out on their site. Absolutely delighted with Stompbox.
2. The MG 30 has plenty of good amps and cabs, but like most modellers, will require each preset to be tweaked according to your guitar, music genre, and playing style. The unit comes with a free two-switch selector but it has limited capabilities on what effect can be turned on or off. Likewise the 3 pedals on the main unit also have limited range of what they can be used for. But it’s adequate for basic functions like OD, delay and mod handling. There is a latency period when you switch from one preset to another or between scenes that can be annoying but expected at this price range. Effects are not carried forward from one preset to another for a smooth transition. It’s sufficient for home practice. And that’s what you’re paying for, so I’m not complaining.
Overall a very nice experience dealing with Stompbox.
